Castle Keep

The "Poppy Girl" is the most famous phantom resident here. She is said to be Bryony, a 15 year old girl who sold flowers in the late 17th century. She was arrested and held prisoner in the keep with many condemned men who took turn raping here, and after eight days of abuse she died. She has been heard sobbing and crying and people have detected the smell of flowers; there are also unconfirmed claims that she has been seen climbing stairs inside the keep. Chanting and a monk have also been reported, as have white lights, banging, mists, temperature drops, dark shadows, a man in a top hat, faces that peer down from the ledges into the Great Hall and many other inexplicable phenomena; there is also a story that a member of staff 'was thrown to the floor by an invisible force and scratched on the leg, causing a wound so deep that it required stitches'. A Roman soldier has also been seen outside the building too.
