Langley Castle Hotel

The "Grey Lady" seen here is believed to be Maud de Lucy, the widow of the man who created the castle. She died falling from the battlements and this has been re-enacted on several occasions. She has also been seen in the Great Hall. A phantom bell and French voices have also been reported, as have visions of the castle being attacked by soldiers and burning; this may refer to an attack upon the castle in 1405 by Henry V's forces when the building was left derelict for some time.
