Cadeby Hall

Reputedly, figures that resemble monks have been seen here; it is believed this site was once the location of a monastery. A phantom coach and horses is said to trundle up the driveway, signifying a death in the family; the coachman knocks on the door but then disappears. A "blue lady" is also seen in one of the bedrooms apparently. Meanwhile, on the A18/Barton Street near Cadeby Hall is a memorial stone to George Nelson, who lived at the hall and died when he was thrown from his horse. Although the stone was moved in the 1960s, his ghost, riding a horse, has been seen in the area, startling motorists.
