Liverpool Playhouse Theatre

Poltergeist-like behaviour of slamming doors and taps that turned on and off have been reported here, as has as "dark presence" and a female phantom named Elizabeth, supposedly a cleaning lady who was killed (or murdered?) in 1897 when an iron fire curtain broke her neck as she mopped the stage, her body falling into the orchestra pit. Her "preferred location" is the gallery, especially seat A5 which is said to have a coldness to it. Other claimed phantoms include two grey ladies, one seen in the coffee bar and the other in the rehearsal room (one of them may be a spectral wardrobe mistress who has been seen) and a man in a cape and top hat who sits in one of the boxes.
