Elton Hall

A dark figure in a cloak and a black dog is said to walk the grounds, said to be Robert Sapcote who lived here centuries ago. He was a gambler who arranged for his card-playing opponents to be robbed on the way home if they had won too much. This proved too much for some of his "guests" and they arranged to lynch him in return, but he died from the beating he received.

Update 10/8/20: Estate Secretary Julie Ward informs me, "There have been no sitings [sic] or 'ghost' experiences at Elton Hall."
