The Golden Lion HotelRooms 12, 13, 14 and 15 and the adjacent corridor were said to be haunted but the building seems to be quiet today apart from a few "strange incidents"; in room 12 or 13 a green lady was to be seen (she even pulled the bedclothes off one guest, it is said) and in No.15, a soldier from the English Civil War era (probably a Royalist) was observed gliding through a wall. It is said that on the 13th day of every month, Oliver Cromwell himself walks the aforementioned corridor. Poltergeist-like activity has also been recorded, with doors opening and closing and bells ringing. Link: Cambridgeshire Live |
