Westminster Abbey

"Father Benedictus", a tall, thin monk with sallow skin, hooked nose and penetrating eyes has been seen in the Abbey, and walks an inch above the floor of the cloisters, apparently between 5 and 6pm in the afternoon. There are also stories of processions of monks walking through the closed western doors, whereupon music was heard until the witness was distracted and the sound stopped. John Bradshaw, the head of the High Court of Justice who ordered King Charles I to be executed has also been observed, where he is sometimes seen in the Deanery and his heavy footsteps heard in the passage and staircase. A soldier in khaki fatigues is also said to have been seen near the grave of the Unknown Soldier. He seems to be trying to say something and his arms are outstretched as if pleading for help.
