Colber Bridge

In the 18th century, the local squire was so obsessed with fox hunting and was so crazed in his love of the hunt that if his hounds refused to kill, he would beat them. On one occasion, he failed to find a fox and approached his pack with a whip in hand, but they turned on him and he fled. As he approached the Colber Bridge, the hounds finally caught him and ripped him to shreds. The squire's final chase is supposedly re-enacted from time to time.
