When this was "The Cow", people experienced the sensation of being pushed or brushed aside, sometimes with force, and a gust of cold air experienced too. The swishing of a skirt and the cleaning and setting out of cutlery, and the tugging of bed clothes of guests who linger too long in their slumber, have been attributed to an ex-waitress and maid, nicknamed "Molly".
