The Quay

On the Quay is a plaque commemorating Poole's contribution to the D-Day landings and it is said that on June 6th, the sound of US soldiers preparing for the Normandy landings can be heard. Also seen on the Quay in the month of August is a woman wearing a cream blouse and a green skirt, her back displaying bleeding wounds. This could be a remnant of the time that there was a whipping post located here.
