Auroral Oval

The following diagram shows the so-called "auroral oval", or the estimated extent of the aurora. The aurora is colour coded; semi-transparent green means low chance of seeing the aurora; solid red means a better chance (allowing for Bz and weather conditions!) By clicking on the map you can toggle between a night-time and day-time view of the earth; and, where possible, your estimated location is shown as a cyan square.
