Beacon Hill

Beacon Hill, known also as Gibbet Hill is the haunt of Thomas Nicholson, seen on "harsh winter nights" according to folklore. His dead body was placed in a gibbet here in 1767 for robbing and murdering butcher Thomas Parker. The stench of rotting flesh has also been detected as has the sound of male voices talking in nearby Beacon Tower.
