Church of St Mary

Three days after a seaman was buried here, according to legend, a black coach would trundle through the town and make its way to the grave, which it would circle three times, whereupon the deceased would climb out of the grave, climb into the carriage with his other mates and then depart. Another report says that the coach would turn into Henrietta Street and then drive off the cliff into the sea. There are also stories of a headless figure dressed in white seen here.
