Byards Leap

The ghost of a white horse has been seen here at dusk. He is said to be Bayard, a blind horse who was used to try and trap and dispose of a witch. The plan was for the witch to mount a drinking horse after a shepherd had called out to her to join him on the saddle. The shepherd turned and stabbed the witch and fell into the pond, but she had dug her nails into his back. Screaming in pain, the horse leapt 60 feet away. A version of the story is that both witch and horse vanished.
