Chang Thai Restaurant and Globe Bar

A gentleman who commanded Cavaliers in the English Civil War and was captured by Parliamentairian forces was held at Ludlow Castle but took up residence in the Globe Inn after he promised not to escape. After a while, the man died and his phantom has been seen since, walking the ground floor and wearing a lace shirt and velvet jacket. Another (?) ghost can be seen upstairs carrying a flickering candle. He is described as an elderly man in a nightshirt. Yet more phantoms include a man in a cloak who had his hair tied behind and a male in a medieval helmet and leather jerkin; it has been suggested that one is Edward Dobson who was murdered in his bed here in the 16th century.
