The Peacock Inn

Latest reports indicate that nothing untoward has been experienced in the pub - even the publican's dogs do not find anything threatening. But in the past, the Games Room, which used to be a mortuary in Oliver Cromwell's days, was said to be icy cold (it is still described as "cold"). A little girl was seen in front of the fireplace in the lounge, and then accompanied by a strong smell of perfume that permeated upstairs; this made a regular's dog react. It is said that the little girl drowned in a well in the garden, and the perfume heralds the appearance of her mother. Other phenomena include all the freezers breaking down, and the mugs in the bar all swinging from their hooks for no reason.
