The Priory and Old Rectory

There are two ghosts that are said to haunt this Grade 2 listed building. The first is that of a man known as "the little brown monk" in the priory, where he has been seen standing in the doorways of both the chapel and entrance hall. An invisible bell rings at 2am, when the monks would have been called for prayers, and chanting or singing has been heard in the gardens where the monks were buried in the past. A ghostly gamekeeper has also been seen wandering round with an antique gun. Poltergeist-like behaviour has also been reported in the house, and screams have been heard coming from an empty room.
