Westwood Manor

A headless man haunts this manor; the legend is that the gypsy wife of a poacher was sentenced to be hanged by the magistrate who lived here. She placed a curse on the inhabitants and the ghost is one of those who killed themselves. The phantom is blamed on the sound of footsteps that ascend one particular staircase. The "Corner Bedroom" has been the source of stories of a spectral woman and light footsteps. In the music room, a worker smelt tobacco and saw a wisp of smoke above a chair. The smoke vanished when he approached.
