Cathedral of St Peter

A spectral nun has been seen here, usually on July evenings, walking from the nave's south wall across the cathedral before dissolving into a wall. She may be the old reported to walk in the old cloisters and may be connected to the spirit of "John" the ghostly monk in nearby Cathedral Close. Chanting, singing and a welcoming voice saying "Hello" have been heard, and other phantoms include a verger who loved the building in life, a priest in a cassock and a glass hearse carrying a suicide victim. Meanwhile in the Cathedral Yard, a lady dressed in black has been seen, on one occasion scaring off two men who were intent on stealing the slate tiles on a nearby house.
