Lower Knighton Farm

Although not seen for some time now, a Victorian housekeeper named Violet was encountered occasionally. When she was seen, she wore a tight waisted black dress, buttoned down the front. Her hands were folder and her hair was tied into a bun. Pinned to her gown was a little bag of perfume which accounted for the smell of violets - hence the nickname. When she was seen she was smiling and was most often seen in the corner of the dining room and the parlour. She was also blamed for areas of the house being unnaturally cold! Also in the past, the sound of an invisible horse and carriage was heard trundling up the lane towards the house; the sound of horses neighing was also heard. However, nothing was found upon investigation.
