Kilworthy House

Now a school, the ghost of a morose judge is seen in the grounds, while his cloaked daughter is seen indoors, usually by the main staircase, and a slamming door in the courtyard is blamed on her. The man is Judge Glanville whose daughter Elizabeth fell in love with a seaman named George. The judge did not approve of the romance, as he wanted her to marry a rich goldsmith. However, he was old and the two lovers plotted his demise so that they could be together. George sneaked into his house and smothered him during the night, but he was observed by a neighbour and all three (including the maid who had admitted the seaman into the house) were sentenced to death by none other than Judge Glanville.
