Holy Trinity Church

It is said that Squire Richard Cabell was so nefarious and so in love with hunting that he made a pact with the devil to continue his deeds after his death. In early July (close to the anniversary of his death on July 5th), he is said to be the headless driver of a coach that goes up to nearby Brook Hall, where he lived; also, on stormy nights, he is reported to emerge from his tomb and head down the church steps on his way to Dartmouth. Another story is that black hellhounds with red eyes and other "dark, hideous, demonic creatures" have been seen near the squire's tomb.
